About Early Life

Dr. Mausumi Saharia was born on 6th May in Sipajhar, Darrang District, Assam. Her father’s name is Mr. Hemen Saharia and her mother name is Mrs Kanaklata Saharia.

As a small child she picked her first lessons of music and she become popular as a famous child artist. At the age of 04 yrs she started her singing. She gave her first stage performance at her school weekly function att the age of 6yrs, she started getting formal training in Hindustani Classical Music (HCM) from Late Pt. Karuna Shankar Thakuria, Late Amarenda Narayan Dev, Shiben Banerjee and her school teacher Late Gunada Das Kaur.

She learned Karnataki Classical Music from Shri Raghu Je from Bangaluru. She learned Hindustani Classical Music from Pt. Paresh Jana in Mumbai and thereafter she learned classical as well as light music from most renowned playback singer of Bollywood evergreen Mr Suresh Wadkar in Mumbai.
